The Great Debate: iPhone vs Droid vs Blackberry

So it is approaching Summer of 2011 and if you're anyone like me you've held out pretty much as long as you can hold out, waiting for what's going to be the hottest phone for the next good limited while. My first true smart phone was the traditional 8Gb iPhone in 2007, back when it was the "Silver-back Big Boy." Before that I had a Motorola Q, which was the smart phone of an earlier time, but didn't authentically hold a flame to what is now carefully a smart phone. Having the latest hottest phone is something that started in high school for me (2001); I was one of the first kids on the block with a huge text messaging plan, custom full-audio ring tones, and Sprint's version of mobile web (Vision I think?). After having the Touch Point it's been steps up only from there.

So, in having the iPhone, I authentically loved all about it. It was not only a sexy phone, but a beneficial one. Built-in map and Gps, high-quality email capability, and what seemed then like the closest a phone could get to a real web-browser; it was a dream. Obviously, the progression that the iPhone has made over the years only expanded on its traditional key features and it's even more impressive than before. Unfortunately, it's no longer leaps and bounds ahead of every other phone on the market; before, not only was it the sexiest phone, but no other phone could touch its features, today, not so much. Now I'm left debating: Do I want to continue with the sexy design, stable/reliable Os that I know and trust, and widest compatibility with after-market products? Or move on to the newer, open, growing, innovative platform from a business that I love more than just about any other business on the planet (Google, which I love; opposed to Apple that I admire and appreciate, but kind of dislike), with handsets that have 4G Now, do all an iPhone can do and more, and who seem to be just scratching the face of what they're capable of? And lastly, what about Blackberry; are they going to catch-up and if so, when; and is Bbm worth being Far behind the curve (no pun intended) in technology?

Oh Blackberry, I have also grown to love you as well; for entirely dissimilar reasons than the iPhone of course. Iphone is the hot blonde girlfriend I've had for a good limited while now, but we all the time have something in the way of us taking the next step; you're the beautiful, sweet brunette with cute square-framed glasses, that's smart and charming, that I met in my Internet Marketing program. We get along so great, you totally get me, but I'm not sure if we'd work out long-term; it seems you prefer a much more easy life, yet I have huge goals and aspirations and prefer the fast-life. Do you think you can cope a life with me in the fast lane? Well, Blackberry, Can You?

After having the iPhone for a while, I purchased an 8530, then the 9330, and never got colse to to the full-featured 9650; I've learned what the craze was about Blackberry, and more specifically "Bbm." But being so far behind in technology and sex-appeal started to get to me after a while. I was "used-to" the iPhone now: touch screen didn't wow me anymore, apps smapps, I want to try something new, grown-up, business-like. Blackberry fulfilled my expectations, even exceeding them in some aspects, but it's Summer 2011 and I have a big plans; the last thing I need is a phone that can't keep up with my constant pix Tweeting, Word Press blogging Hd Video shooting, Facebook mobile uploading, international Skype messaging, Adobe Flash site visiting, hotspot internet sharing, cloud-based music listening... Need I continue? Blackberry, it looks like we might be great together, just not at this time in my life.

I've been waiting for the Motorola Droid Bionic and have officially gotten over the excitement I had when there was venture of an early 2011 release. Now the Thunderbolt is looking quite appealing; it's ready now, it's 4G, and the tech blog nerds are speculating that dual-core processors are over-kill for at least a year or so... Um, what else would I be waiting for? Not only that, but there's been like 15 Droids released in the past combine of months, one of which I think has dual-core (I'm not going to look that up, it doesn't matter either way), so Bionic you're authentically losing me fast baby! There was already the interrogate of Htc vs Moto anyway. By and large it seems population are in preference of Htc; I don't know either way because I haven't authentically played with many Droids, but advent from a Motorola Q way back when, and a few other Moto phones, I'm not so sure I'd dislike Moto as much as the others. The other manufacturers of Droid I haven't paid much attentiveness to; as I have no plans of getting one of the "late to the party trying to catch-up" models, no matter how great of a job they're doing at catching-up.

So if I'm not going to wait, the interrogate becomes which Droid would be the front-runner for me? Easy right? Thunderbolt, duh! Not so fast though. Yes, 4G blah blah blah and all any Droid on the market can do for the most part, except join together to the not-quite- a-computer-thing. But do I authentically want to go that high-end right-away? Or do I want to get a mid-level Droid like the anticipated 2, which is still quite sexy and feature packed, but I wouldn't feel quite as bad scrapping it in a few months if something splendid comes out like say 'er an iPhone5 or lord-willing even better; I can't even dream such a product! The anticipated 2 is a sexy limited beast, I authentically like it's look, feel, and weight good than the Thunderbolt; but not having 4G when I live and am in a 4G capable area over 85% of my usage-time is a pretty big mark to miss. At this point it's looking like three possibilities: Thunderbolt, iPhone4, or anticipated 2 (don't even speak to me about Droid X, that phone is hideous, I don't care if it could keep me business at night, I have standards).

Now, that I've pretty much removed Blackberry from the running for now (your technological short-comings are too vast to pick you; I'd be choosing you for nothing more than brand loyalty and bbm, and we just don't have that kind of history), narrowed my choices down to two Droids (Thunderbolt and anticipated 2) and the iPhone4, the interrogate comes down to which one of these? This is where I'm somewhat stuck, and ultimately I'm reasoning that it's going to come down to price. I'm not eligible for an upgrade, so I'll be purchasing pre-owned or full-retail. If I can't find a suitable pre-owned, the iPhone4 and Thunderbolt are immediately eliminated; I will not be spending 0 on a phone this Summer, I'll much rather enjoy an extra week out of the country. So far I've found a combine Thunderbolts for a limited less than 0, a combine of iPhone4 for the same, and only one anticipated 2 for 0; with these prices it's for sure Thunderbolt or iPhone4; and with what I mentioned about 4G and open platform I think Thunderbolt wins.

What We Want From the Apple iPhone 5

Since the launch of the customary iPhone, smartphones have evolved and screens have gotten inevitably bigger. For example, Samsung's best-selling Galaxy S2 handset comes touting a crowd-pleasing 4.3-inch touchscreen, along with the Htc Sensation and the Zte Skate - each gift a more multimedia cordial alternative to Apple's Retina Display. Whether it comes in at 3.7 or 4-inches, iPhone users are pining for a larger screen, which would no doubt offer-up a best browsing sense and would make typing onscreen much less fiddly.

What we don't need, however, is a 3D screen. Although the Lg Optimus 3D and Htc Evo 3D have made it to market, there's still a lack of 3D content to make the most of the high-priced technology. Not to mention a the fact that a stereoscopic screen is likely to make you dizzy after 30 minutes of using.

We may not be hoping for 3D stereoscopic cameras, but a market-leading camera is other must-have feature for the Apple iPhone 5. Although the iPhone 4's 5 megapixel camera is my no means poor, it's overshadowed by its Android rivals, where 8 megapixel efforts seem to come as standard. If the ongoing rumours are anyone to go by, we can start to get excited about finding Sony's 8.1 megapixel Exmor R sensor on the back of the next-gen Apple smartphone.

With Apple's main rivals touting speedy dual-core processors, dual core power is other must-have feature. With Apple's A5 chipset onboard - which made its debut on the iPad 2 earlier this year - the next-gen iPhone would be much more noteworthy to hardcore gaming and video streaming. This would also make way for 1080p Hd video capture at 30 frames-per-second, too - hopefully using that 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

While it's finding likely that we'll see a dual-core processor, it's less unlikely that we'll see microSd support - one of the most sought after features from iDevice users. However, there is investment that the iPhone 5 will be ready in a 64Gb version, gift up that much-sought after supplementary storage.

There's no doubting, iPhone users have a long want list, host to a bunch of features they'd like to see onboard. However, with Samsung claiming that it's Galaxy S2 is the thinnest mobile phone ready on the planet - everyone's hoping for a more-svelte iPhone 5, too. If the transition in the middle of the iPad and the iPad 2 is anyone to go by, Apple will no doubt shave off a few grams here and there.

We know what we want to see, but we still don't know when we're going to see it. Apple are notoriously retention quite on the handset's launch date, although all fingers are currently pointing towards a mid-September release.

Can the iPhone 4 and the Htc Evo Video Chat?

There is no doubt about it - two of the most beloved new phones that are currently on the store would have to be Apple's iPhone 4, and the Evo from Htc. Currently, the iPhone 4 is exclusive the At&T while the Evo is only on the Sprint network. Both of these phones feature one of the most beloved features to hit the cell phone world in the last few years - video chatting.

Due to advances in the processing speed of the newest lines of phones, the technological upgrades that have been made in the way of cellular phone cameras and also the newest 4G speeds that are ready to cellular networks, video chat is something that has finally become inherent for wireless customers.

The biggest question that many users may find is that these phones are only set up to be able to impart face to face with other users of the same model phone. This could be an issue if you have an iPhone 4 but the man you need to chat with, whether it be a friend, relative, or company associate, has the Htc Evo. This is where apps from third-parties come into play.

Using the pre-installed software for video chat on these phones will not allow you to video chat with users of other brands of phones, but there are many third-party applications that you can download for your phone that will allow you do video chat with anyone, whether it's an additional one cell phone user or even man on their home computer.

Companies such as Yahoo! and Skype have already released applications that allow you to use this new feature from your iPhone 4, Evo, or many other means via their software. While Skype may cost you for use, Yahoo!'s Yahoo Messenger is free to use for both instant messaging and video chatting.

Being able to see the man you're talking with is a grand feature of the newest phones and is something that will turn the way we all communicate. While I feel that the phone manufacturers will make a suitable way for separate phones to impart for video chat, I think we're just too early in improvement for that to happen right now. In the meantime, you are still able to video chat with anyone by using many messenger programs ready out there on the market.

The New Htc Hero - Is it an iPhone Killer?

At this point in time Apple is still the most grand player in the smartphone shop and other industry are still trying to come up with the next big phone that will be an "iPhone killer".

Htc is about to activate it "Hero" in late 2009 in the Us with the sprint network. We have yet to get our hands on one to test it out for ourselves but with the info ready we can draw a few conclusions.

First and important the fact that this Htc is an android phone makes a big dissimilarity right away. I have owned some nice Htc devices all of which being windows based and although I was regularly impressed with determined features I found them to be sluggish and buggy. The new Htc Hero however seems promising and a few details about its interface works have already been revealed.

Much like other competitors like the palm pre, Htc is going after the iPhone in a similar manner and that having an interface that allows complicated apps to continually run in the background and open. The new Htc Hero allows for up to seven home pages that can have distinct "widgets" running at the same time. This for some can be an advantage over the iPhone and seems to be a trend among those finding to steal some shop share from apple.

As far as the performance goes the phone uses a touch screen and a track ball in a very nice but somewhat awkward finding package. When we can get our hands on one we will be able to discuss further about the potential of the touch screen and other capabilities.

The Camera will be a 5.0 mega-pixel with video capabilities but a some what disappointing 512mb internal memory, however it is expandable with an Sd card. The Hero looks to have a very slick Os but is right on not geared towards the music or media user.

So will this phone cause population to run out and ditch their iPhones for a Hero? Probably not, although the phone has some nice qualities I feel its going to be a Palm Pre sequel with a few population anxious to try it, but I doubt its going to get iPhone users to turn in masses. If any phone is going to do this they admittedly need to step their app store up and nail the interface for both newb and tech savy users alike. I'm retention my iPhone that's for sure.

HTC EVO 4G Specs - A Better Choice Than iPhone 4?

The release of the Htc Evo 4g phone has caused a lot of excitement among those savvy shoppers who take the time to compare the specs of this fabulous technology. There are a number of sites on the internet that will give you all of the specs of both the iPhone 4 and the Evo 4g. It's not my purpose here in this article to compare all the features but simply to point out some "key specs" that separate the Evo from the iPhone.

One of the specs that set the Htc Evo 4g apart from the iPhone is the display. You might not think that the display is a big deal but the Evo has a 4.3 inch display compared to the iPhone's 3.5 inch. The difference in nearly 1 inch more display is the ability of the Evo to show more widgets, games and website content. Both of these phones are the classic candybar design but the slightly larger Evo makes room for the larger display and let's face it, 1 inch more display is a pretty significant difference.

HTC Phones Sprint

The second of the Htc Evo 4g specs that trumps the iPhone is the software. Evo utilizes the 1 GHz Snapdragon chipset which makes this phone the first American unit to fully exploit the Sprint WiMAX 4G network. This means better video streaming, faster connectivity and a front facing 1.3 MP camera for "video calls".

The third and one of the most impressive specs of the Htc Evo 4g is the camera. The camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels as opposed to iPhone's 5 megapixels. This amazing 8MP camera possesses HD video recording capabilities. The duel camera Evo 4g is truly an exciting piece of technology and boast the additional claim that it is America's first Android phone.

While it is true that the iPhone has a longer lasting battery and a slightly brighter display these features alone do not produce enough "buzz" to overtake the Htc Evo 4g. The three key specs we have examined in this article make the Evo a very attractive option.
